Alex Spielman is the founder and principal of The Little Things, a Los Angeles–based residential interior design studio specializing in thoughtful, layered homes for modern family life. Known for creating spaces that are both beautiful and deeply functional, the studio brings a warm, livable, and highly considered approach to each project, with particular expertise in family spaces that feel as elevated as they are practical.
Originally recognized for its work in children’s rooms and nurseries, The Little Things has grown into a full-service residential practice, creating homes that are timeless, personal, and tailored to the families who live in them. The studio works on projects across the United States and internationally, and is especially known for its ability to design for real life—bringing equal attention to flow, storage, materiality, and the quieter details that shape how a home feels day to day.
Raised in a family of architects and textile designers, Alex brings a lifelong love of design to her work, along with the rigor and project leadership shaped by a first career in tech. Her work is defined by close attention to detail, a strong sense of composition, and a belief that the most successful homes support the rhythms of everyday life while still feeling polished, personal, and full of character.
Alex lives in West Los Angeles with her husband, two daughters, and their dog, Mango.

Emily joined The Little Things in early 2025, following a career in luxury communications within the interiors and lifestyle space.
With a formal education in fashion design and a background in corporate brand strategy, she brings a unique perspective to the studio's daily design operations and long-term vision. Emily is dedicated to supporting the studio’s growth and ensuring every touchpoint—from creative presentation to brand storytelling—aligns with the highest standard of excellence.
Emily lives in New Canaan, Connecticut with her husband and two kids.
